Merryl Steinberg received her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 2006 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003.  Merryl began her career in matrimonial and family law during her time in law school when she interned for the Honorable John Stackhouse, J.S.C., while he served on the Matrimonial Bench, and she has exclusively practiced family and matrimonial law since graduating law school.

Merryl appreciates the intricacies involved in family matters and is known for her empathy and compassion with clients.  Although she is committed to working collaboratively and crafting a settlement, when possible, she is also well versed in litigation and has experience in handling all aspects of a case from inception to conclusion.  Merryl’s extensive practice involves matters concerning equitable distribution of assets, including cases involving complex financial issues, to issues of custody, spousal support, child support and visitation. 

Merryl is admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey and has practiced in both states.  She is a member of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York Women’s Bar Association, and a former member of the New York City Bar Association Matrimonial Committee.  Merryl lives with her husband and son, in New Jersey.
